Last week:

  • Power Mobility week 3 of 4 rocked many of us! Mostly the legs… anyone else feel that?

  • Monday through Friday, I get to train several of you in semi-private settings, covering personal protection, combatives, and martial arts… I LOVE THIS KIND OF TRAINING! You all show up with such purpose driven intention and implementation of your sessions! THANK YOU!.

  • Saturday, I got to train another cadre of security professionals from Metro Safety & Security, to spin them up on De-escalation, cuffing procedures, compliance skill sets, and shoot/don’t shoot scenarios on our infra-red firing range. All have been passing with flying colors! Honored to be selected by this LE owned security company as the “go to” for up to date, innovative tactical training and combatives.

THIS WEEK:

Functional Training:

        • Power & Mobility (Week 4/ 4) -

          • Shorter sets - Heavy “Unusual” loads

          • Sprinting, dynamic movement

        • Maintain your protein and good fats, AND veggies/fiber

        • Gallon of H2O (minimum)

        • 10 min cold shower or 3 min minimum cold plunge daily

        • Mobility & Flexibility- 15+ min a day

Martial Arts / MMA:

        • Sprawl drills to back take

        • Underhook escape side control to jump in triangle

        • Side control to opportunistic armbars

        • Power strikes and angles

        • Youth Martial Arts

            • Take downs- shots

            • Mount sweeps

            • Speed/Reflex drills

            • Counters, Sprawling after striking is countered.

            • Power striking, combinations to throws

            • Self Defense - Anti bullying

Iron Arsenal:

        • Level I - crash entries to duck under: 2 on 1, head and arm, back take and sag.

          • Utilizing strikes from duck under position in transition

          • Damage along the way - knees, elbows, - opportunistic targets

        • Level II - catching chokes from 2 on 1 (standing)

          • Escape from standing holds to backstop position

        • Utilizing secondary and tertiary weapon deployment amidst attack

        • Weapon retention

The major events we will all witness and endure are birth and death… Life its what happens in between the events. This correlates to your training… your “life” will happen and alter in the spaces between the “events”. That life will dictate your experience, perception, lens, you witness and engage in those events and their outcomes.
