WE’RE ALL FIGHTING FOR SOMETHING!
Leaning in, grinding, looking into the abyss… all the above… it’s a fight.
In a fight, you’ll get confronted with real and imaginary dangers.
Not all monstrous appearances are real threats, and some angelic appearances can be deadly.
Knowing a real threat from a false one… or defining your fears… why you’re scared… can all lead you to believe something is a threat when it’s not, and in contrast… lead you to believe “I’ve got this”… when in actuality, you have no business being in that arena.
Finding our “Why” can and most times will, come at the cost of finding out “Who” we are…
Without putting ourselves in the DeepWater… without facing adversity… unencumbered adversity… no safety net… you CAN NOT KNOW “Who” you are…
Some have no choice and are thrown into this environment or situation.
You will Freeze, Fight, or Flee…
Sometimes… any one of those actions may save your life.
Your best options in a real threat are to flee at 100% or fight at 100%, OR fight until you can flee.
You may not be given the option.
You may have to fight.
So you better F’n learn…
Your fight may manifest from a monetary crisis, a family situation, an abuse situation, the need to protect a loved one, your career may call upon you to protect and fight in some fashion…
Your fight may not come for years.
But, once again, you better be F’n ready.
So we train.
We train every day as if it were our last, or we have to defend it like it is the end of days.
Because… that day may be today, tomorrow, or the next.
Don’t forget when you walk in these doors and crawl out as to why you’re fighting… who you’re fighting for… and that to truly triumph… it must be something other than yourself.
There’s a reason we don’t have mirrors in this gym.
There’s a reason we don’t take shirts off.
There’s a reason we don’t boast, brag, or talk shit…
WE’RE ABOVE IT… or you better be.
You’ll find there is no place in your better self for serving you first.
So before you adjust the lights, fix your hair, duck your lips, pump for 10 more reps and share that selfie… who are you really serving?
You will have better for yourself by giving first.
Give all in here.
All you have and then more.
Leave the anger, the stress, the fear, the self worth issues, the loneliness, the loss, the tragedy, the emptiness… leave it all here and find peace.
There is no more peaceful man (or woman), than one who is prepared for war, is willing to do or has done horrible things in horrible situations in the service of others, and owns & shares their hearts with their fellow man. These people have seen the abyss, lived it, and know the precious and precarious value of life and peace.
We have followed a motto here for many years… “Die here to live there”.
LEAVE IT ALL IN THE GYM AND ON THE MAT.
As you leave it here, you will make space to fill your life with light, glory, and peace… and you’ll be able to share it, plant it, and watch it grow.

FRIDAY & SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 13th & 14th
FIGHT-U’s Midwest World’s Prep GAMMA (Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts) UNDER 18 TOURNAMENT is on September 14th -
I need volunteers for Friday night (4), and for Saturday (7-8) volunteers. For giving directions, next fight runners, seating / crowd assistance, ticket taking, etc… Please let me know who could help! You’ll have free entry to the tournament and be fed throughout the day.
A FREE officials seminar (referee & judge) will be September 13th, 5-7pm, as well as early weigh ins at 5pm.
Saturday the 14th, weigh ins will commence at 9am, and first matches will begin at 11am.
Come watch Youth Team “Fight University” take on the region as they warm up for the World Championships in Indonesia this December! Divisions will be round-robin to get the competitors more mat time and experience as growing, elite athletes. Entry to watch will be $15.

Up your protein intake.
Take up to 1/3 of your first protein dose 30 min prior to training.
Push the remainder of your first protein within 20-30 minutes after your training.
