REVGYM WEEK OF 02.12.24
REVGYM TRIBE!
Our first Protector Series Seminar of the year was great yesterday!
Covering situational awareness, mitigation, de-escalation and defensive skill sets around transitional spaces going to and from vehicles and buildings, as well as potential bad actors approaching or engaging when in a vehicle.
Do you know how to utilize space and objects to protect yourself and others? Do you know how to apply reflective surfaces in everyday use when navigating a parking lot or shopping center? Do you know the safest protocols for entering and exiting your vehicle? Or to keep your family, co-workers, or principals safe?
Our next in the series will be next month! Keep eyes peeled for the date coming up quick!
”THE DEEP WATER” PODCAST:
Yup, you read that right! We’ve sarted a podcast!
We recorded our first episode this last Wednesday with two of my “lifers” in Chris Nelson and Siegfried Flores! We talked who we are, how we are, how they got here, the Deep Water, Raytown, Gym Jones, mark Twight, martial arts, and some bullsh*t…
We’ll be posting on a Youtube channel to start with.
We’d love to have any one of you REVGYM Tribe members on to speak to your path in life, the gym, hobbies, events, competitions, passions, fun, serious stuff, etc…
We have availability late mornings, lunch hours, and some evenings to record!
Please let me know if you’d like to be on and what kind of time works for you!

GYM ETIQUETTE -
Let’s step up REVGYM!
When you take out a piece of equipment, put it back EXACTLY where it belongs when finished. Whether it’s a weight plate, band, a bar, a dumbbell, a box, a rower… put it back.
Do not wear dirty or muddy shoes or clothes into the gym.
Do not pour water into the base of the water cooler, it’s not a drain.
Bring a water bottle. We will no longer provide the red cups fro water, as they were being left everywhere.
If you’re a martial artist, and you’re putting in hard training before getting on the mat, bring a different shirt/rash guard to train in on the mat. Respect your partners.
If you’re a practitioner of the afternoon Open Gym, or 6pm sessions, and equipment has been left out for you use in a WOD, put it away when finished.
Trainers, if you’re running a session, make sure your people put their equipment away.
Take your clothes and water bottles home please. Any bottles, clothes, etc. left in the lobby area, or anywhere else, will be donated or thrown away after a week.
If you spill water, pre workout, chalk, blood, vomit… clean it up.
If you use the shower facilities, be easy on the door of the shower please. Limit shower time to 5 min.
When using the restroom sinks, please clean up after yourself if you’ve “splashed” water all over the sink or floor.
Do not use someone’s private barbell. These are usually Rogue bars, have sticker(s), aluminum or steel collars, etc. Use the chrome or plain steel bars. If you’d like to store your own personal bar here, you may!
When unloading a barbell, do not drop the ends of the barbell to the ground, as this will strip the threads in the end of the barbell, rendering it useless.
When utilizing Open Path for gym access, please make sure the door locks behind you when entering or leaving.
When using Open Gym times, if the kiosk screens are not on, please use the Wodify app on your phone or tablet to access the WOD.
No shoes on the martial art mats unless approved.

Know your WHY?
Know your WHY!
Know your WHO?
Know your WHO!
Who are you when you fully show up and what drives your decisions?
What voice(s) influence your decisions?
What past experiences are driving you forward or holding you back?
Are you free from weights that are not yours to carry?
Are you holding them out of habit?
Are you clinging to fears that are keeping you from freedom? from discipline needed to find that freedom?
Are you applying grace to all necessary to allow yourself to rise?
Or are you holding to pains, chains, and weights of the past that are surely holding you under the Deep Water?
You can’t “Bull in a china-shop” you’re way through the chains… you won’t break them that way… you’ll fool yourself into believing you can get strong enough to carry them… you’ll fail… and all around you will be effected.
The way is to let go of the chains…. you’re choosing to hold them. No one person(s), or incident, or series of incidents can make the weights and pains of the past cling to you…. you have the choice.
Let go.
Follow your why.
and know WHO you are when you choose your path.
Choose wisely.
