REVGYM & FIGHT-U WEEK OF 09.16.24
TRIBE!
WOW!!!
Our Fight-U Youth MMA Team ROCKED IT this last Saturday!!! Several gold, silver, and bronze medals! I’m so proud of these kids consistently stepping up, finding their grit, and growing exponentially in such a demanding, dynamic sport! I’m so proud of you all!
We had 62 competitors, 8 states represented, and 12 different martial art schools! All of which competed with honor, respect, and a wonderful martial spirit! The relationships being built between kids and coaches is awesome to see!
To my team that helped plan, set up, implement, putting in extraordinary hours to get it all just right… THANK YOU!!!
THANK YOU to all of the gym members that volunteered away their Saturday to help things run smooth and learn how to judge and referee! It was a long, hectic day… and you all were great in all of your roles!!!
A big THANK YOU and shout out to Nick Orlando and Iron Adaptive for providing some great BBQ and other deliciousness at the tournament!
THANK YOU to my long time brother, Rich Talavera, for busting his ass to help get the gym ready for the tournament!
I’d also like to recognize all of the family members and friends that came out to support the athletes and me!
I got to see some old friends and training partners from the early 80’s!!! What an honor to have you all here!
Lastly, I’d like to thank and recognize Justin Brown, the President of GAMMA USA! His selfless dedication to the development, and growth of youth MMA in the united States is unparalleled! This man donates his time and money to build the future of this sport and is helping afford the next generation of mma athletes the opportunity to one day compete in the Olympics, representing the USA!
If you missed this one, I plan to host up to 4 tournaments a year! Some more MMA, Submission Grappling, Kickboxing, and a new concept I’d like to test out!
Watch for dates!!!
In the meantime, our Fight-U Youth MMA Team still needs more support to make their trip to Indonesia this December!
